Crime Log – April 28, 2017

Apr 10:            Allied Engineering and Design reported that their company vehicle, which had been parked in the lot over the weekend had all 4 tires slashed.  The approximate damage incurred was $590. 

Apr 14:            A Cherrywood Ln resident reported $100 cash, an iPhone charger and an iPod charger stolen from his vehicle during the overnight hours.  No forced entry was evident, indicating that the vehicle was likely left unlocked. 

Apr 16:            Police were dispatched to UPS Mail Innovations, 200 Birch Creek Rd for a report of a disturbance and criminal mischief.  Upon arrival it was learned that a temporary employee engaged in a dispute with a co-worker and after the dispute was advised he was no longer welcome at the facility.  As he was leaving the premises he damaged property including a telephone and glass entry door.  The male, a 25 year old Philadelphia man, fled the scene prior to police arrival.  He was charged with criminal mischief and has a pending date in Logan Township Municipal Court. 

Apr 17:            Waterford police located a vehicle which had been stolen from Abbey Ln back in January.  Same was subsequently returned to its owner. 

Apr 17:            At 0227 hours, patrols responded to an alarm activation at Ciconte’s Pizza, 1 Village Center Dr.  Upon arrival, officer discovered that the glass entry doors had been shattered.  Officers cleared the restaurant and found no one on location.  A K-9 track yielded negative results for the suspect(s).  A safe was stolen from within the building.  Video surveillance was unable to identify the suspect and the investigation is ongoing. 

Apr 19:            Police were dispatched to Performance Food Group at 301 Heron Dr for a report of burglary and theft from a vehicle.  Upon arrival it was learned that a vehicle was entered and a woman’s wallet was taken from within.  Video surveillance was able to identify the actor, who, when confronted by management, fled the area on foot.  The male, a 32 year old Swedesboro man, was apprehended by police a short distance away.  He was transported to headquarters where he was fingerprinted and photographed.  He was charged with burglary, theft and eluding police and was also found to be a wanted person by the Gloucester County Sherriff’s Department.  He was subsequently transported to the Salem County Jail. 

Apr 22:            Patrols responded to Paulsboro Rd in the area of Repaupo Station Rd for a motor vehicle crash.  While on scene it was determined that the operator had left the scene prior to police arrival.  The vehicle was subsequently found to be stolen from Vineland.  The driver’s identity could not be developed.

Apr 23:            Employees arriving at Papa Luigi’s, 11 Village Center Dr, found the front door to have been smashed open.  A cash register drawer was taken from within the restaurant.  No tangible evidence was immediately discovered at the scene.   The investigation is ongoing. 

Apr 24:            Representatives from Camping World on Heron Dr reported that some time over the past several weeks a tow dolly was stolen and 6 of the RV’s on site had Catalytic Converters stolen.  The total loss was in excess of $5000.  No suspects could be identified.
