On Thursday, August 10th, 2017 residents of Logan Township are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for our annual “Logan Night Out” crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Logan Township Police Department, will involve over 16,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world. While the national event is held on the first Tuesday of August, the department has opted to delay our event this year in order to allow for more displays and demonstrations to take place.
National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
From 6 to 8:00 p.m. on August 10th, residents in Logan Township are asked to join the men and women of the police department at Township Line Park (2155 Township Line Road) for a night of fun in support of a great cause. There will be free food, face painter and balloon artists, and giveaways along with information and representatives from local, state, and county agencies. Race cars and various 1st responder apparatus will also be on display.
Come out next week and meet the members of our department during this wonderful event!
