Good afternoon to all of our followers. Today we want to inform everyone of a dangerous trend that is severely impacting everyone, not only here in Logan Township, but across this great nation of ours. As you can see in Attorney General Platkin’s press release, more than 1 of every 4 four traffic crash fatalities is attributed to speeding. Let’s keep in mind that speeding is a conscious decision, and is 100% preventable. Another frightening fact is that more than 1 out of every 3 traffic crash fatalities claims the life of someone between the ages of 17 and 26.
Please educate everyone you care about of the dangers of speeding, reckless driving, wearing seatbelts and cell phone use. Implore them to make safe, sound decisions when behind the wheel so that they return home to you safely.
One last thing, be aware that the fine officers employed the Logan Township Police Department will be participating in this ENFORCEMENT campaign. Keep in mind that this effort is not undertaken to create any conflict between our officers and the motoring public. Some of the most important roles a police officer takes on is that of law enforcer, community caretaker and guardian of public safety. We address moving violations, and yes, even write tickets, in furtherance of those job functions and obligations that we are sworn to uphold. The whole purpose of operations such as these is to make our community a safer place.
Thank you in advance for driving safely this summer!
