2/25: UPS Loss Prevention reported an internal theft from their warehouse on Birch Creek Road after an employee was found with a ring in his pocket. The employee, a 59 y/o Camden man, was terminated in lieu of charges. The ring, valued at $115 was recovered and returned to inventory.
2/26: The Department continues to receive reports of phone scams involving callers posing as IRS agents and demanding money or identifying information from unsuspecting residents. Everyone is reminded that legitimate businesses and government agencies do not use “shake down” tactics. 2/26: Police charged a 29 y/o Penns Grove man with simple assault following a disturbance at a warehouse on the 300 block of Heron Drive. The man fled following the incident and service is pending.
2/27: A Bridgeport man reported that someone tried to force entry into a detached garage by forcing open the overhead door. The door was damaged, however nothing was reported stolen.
2/27: Police charged a 51 y/o Woolwich man with multiple motor vehicle offenses including DWI following a Paulsboro Road vehicle stop. The man was initially stopped for passing a marked police car in a no passing zone while travelling at a high rate of speed. He was processed and released pursuant to John’s Law.
3/3: Police arrested a 45 y/o Norristown, Pa. man on an outstanding warrant out of Delran. He was additionally charged with possession of marijuana following a search incident to arrest. He posted and was processed and released pending court.
3/4: Officers arrested a 29 y/o Penns Grove man at his place of employment on Center Square Road after it was discovered he was wanted (NCIC) for aggravated assault out of the Salem County Prosecutors Office. He was processed and remanded to the Salem County Jail in default of $200,000 full cash bail.
3/4: Police charged an 18 y/o Bridgeport man and a 19 y/o Gibbstown man with possession of drug paraphernalia following a vehicle stop on Center Square Road. They were processed and released pending court.
3/5: Representatives of a Heron Drive trucking company reported that the wheels and tires were stolen from two trucks parked in their lot sometime overnight. The tractors had jacked up and resting on their axels when discovered. One of the trucks fell from its cribbing and was damaged as well. The total loss was estimated at $9,000.
