The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, in collaboration with the Gloucester County Police Chief’s Association as well as many patrol officers throughout the County, has recently launched an initiative called the Gloucester County Special Needs Registry.  This registry allows individuals who fall into a broad group of people with special needs, voluntarily register to have their information stored in our Records Management System in order to assist emergency service personnel to better serve them during a time of crisis or during a police interaction like a Motor Vehicle Stop.  Examples of some of the physical and/or intellectual disabilities that make an individual eligible to register include, but are not limited to, are:  Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Diabetes, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy, Electricity or Oxygen Dependent, Hard of Hearing/Deaf, Mental Illness, Intellectual/Developmental Disability, Life Threatening Allergy, Mobility Impairment, Obesity, PTSD, Sight Impairment/Blind, Speech Impairment, etc.

If you, a family member or loved one are interested in having infomation about any of the above mentioned conditions to improve communications and interactions during a time of crisis, please feel free to reach out to us at 856-467-0061.
